Fenwick was born before November 5th, 1744 in Black Ouston, Whitfield, Northumberland and his baptism took place on November 5th, 1744 in St. John, Whitfield Parish, Northumberland.^1 2

Fenwick's father was William MARTIN and his mother was Mary LOWES. He had three brothers and a sister, named Matthew, William, Hugh and Mary.  He was the second youngest of the five children.  He died in 1813.
